|
|
I manually sniped until recently when a bunch of auctions I was watching were closing simultaneously. Forced into automatic sniping. Gixen.com was favorably reviewed so checked it out - read the forums & immediately signed up for the premium ($6!) service since I needed to have more than 10 snipes going.
I was a little concerned to see if eBay monitored bid origination location. I normally bid from the middle east but Gixen.com servers are in USA. Since I WANTED these items I did not want something weird to happen - a problem would most likely affect all the simultaneous auctions. I found a $1.00 item and sniped it, just to be sure; it worked, no problem.
Sat back to watch the "real" auctions, they executed perfectly. I think I got 8 of 10 auctions - 1 outsniped and 1 outbid maybe. I was very impressed when I saw the numerous eBay emails (perhaps 20 emails total for 10 auctions) within about 15 seconds for bids and won/loss.
A side benefit - you can use gixen.com to monitor auctions while at work much more discreetly than going on eBay directly...
Mario, great job! |

Been sniping for a year or two using Gixen and find it more and more helpful all the time. Nice work, Mario. |

Just won my third batch of simultaneous auction closures with the help of Gixen. What a thing of beauty to win 8 auctions with all bids - confirmation emails - winning emails - showing up in my email-box, all within a couple seconds of each other.
Could not possibly do this manually.
Gixen auction summary is superb for monitoring/managing auctions and doing last-minute tweaks.
Thanks to Mario I am going broke...

That's always been one of Gixen's problems: it wins. Losing is free. _________________ John

I continue to win - Mario is making me broke... It's wonderful as I live 1/2 way around the world from most auctions I bid on - often they close at 2AM. Nice knowing I can go to bed (or on travels - I travel a fair amount) and don't have to be up or online for my bids to be entered.
The good news is ... Gixen will execute your bids when you can't.
The bad news is ... Gixen WILL execute your bids when you can't. I won a couple items that I ultimately didn't want all that much. So ... if you aren't sure about an item, enter a bid that is less than the current price and you can at least monitor it via the Gixen interface.
I have a couple minor items/suggestions - posted in suggestions and ideas - but overall highly impressed. Great job Mario! |
