|
|
The high bid is not being updated for my auctions. Even if I set the 'Price refresh interval' to a low number like 5 or 2 seconds. My bid, however, does get placed by the server.
If I close the app and reopen it, it gets the updated price that is displayed on 'My Snipes' page which is out of date until I refresh it.
And then I have to close and re-open the desktop app to get it correct! This does not work.
Don't know how it might be related, but this used to work until I let my subscription for the mirror expire. I have renewed my subscription. Is there something I'm doing wrong? |

So to clarify, you're saying that the updates for the prices in the Desktop Manager, that are taken directly from Ebay from your computer are no longer working ?
But it does update the prices that are taken from the Gixen servers (which only get updated periodically). _________________ Mark |

Mark, this is correct, I was able to replicate the problem.
I am looking into this. Note that this does not affect the functionality of Gixen, snipes will still trigger and work fine. |

Any progress on this? I used Gixen again tonight and see no difference in behavior. |

Unfortunately not yet, it will take some time to resolve. |

I also see wrong (low) High Bid figures even when I do a forced refresh and the actual High Bid has been at that higher level for at least 24 hours. This does not seem to be a \"delay\" as Gixen have suggested to others but a real bug that may affect bidding. I have lost several auctions recently where the winning price has been apparently below my Max bid. Could just be timing I guess, but happening more in the last few weeks. worth checking I think and a response about why the forced refresh does not apparently pickup the current High Bid as shown on ebay.

I think there is perhaps some misunderstanding of the functionality here, the 'Refresh Gixen Status' button is so named because it gets the data from the Gixen servers, not the Ebay ones. Those servers are, of course, updated periodically from the Ebay ones, but not as frequently as you can have them updated directly from Ebay via the options on the 'Settings->Preferences' panel within the Desktop Manager, which are handled directly by your own computers resources from within the Desktop Manager.

The winning/selling price for that auction was set by the bid that was placed around 2 minutes before the end of the auction. So snipe timing was not an issue, or at least, if it was, that would be a first for this platform. Presumably your bid did not meet the minimum requirements dictated by the bid increment rule ?
The timing of price updates never interferes the sniping process, these are separate operations. _________________ Mark |
