For eBay item number:326466588267, the Gixen status was SCHEDULED. When Gixen got ready to put in my bid the status changed to AUCTION RESTRICTED: SHIPPING ADDRESS COUNTRY RESTRICTED. I cannot find why this is happening.

cheers
Rob

This will be a reflection of what Ebay responded with when Gixen tried to place your bid.

That seller is located in West Footscray, VIC, Australia, and has restrictions on where they are willing to send items.

Where are you located ?

My address postal Albury NSW also in Australia. My account address is Granya Victoria also in Australia. This is the third time this has happened.
I am assuming ebay has rejected the bid because the server is overseas.

As far as I am aware all Ebay servers are in the USA, even those that serve sites like the Australian ones.

The Gixen servers are also in the US.

Ebay does reject bids but not generally due to where the bid is coming from, cases like this are always related to the account info associated with the bidder and seller.

It's something you can question Ebay about, but their customer service generally does not have the required access to look deeply into these things and have to escalate it to a specialist team.

As far as Gixen is concerned it's an external process that rejects your bids, and Gixen just receives a response from Ebay informing it that this has happened. In order to take this forward Mario really needs a case where you've placed an initial bid successfully yourself and later had a bid that Gixen tries to place via the same Ebay account rejected. Obviously that's a big ask, and I'm not aware that he's actually managed to report any cases as a result.

Just as an aside really, what site do you have targeted, on the Gixen settings page, because that's the only other variable you can play with on the Gixen side ?

My current country and target sites are set in Australia.

I have reviewed the postage on the items that were rejected. The postage was set to Australia. Other items are set to worldwide.

The next time I find an item with the postage set to Australia only, I will make an initial bid to see what happens.

thanks for you time

Great,

... and if you subsequently get a rejected Gixen bid I'm sure Mario will be very interested in taking that forward with Ebay directly... He closely monitors the support email address provided on the Contact page.

Actually, if you even get a rejection from a manual bid which you don't expect, that could be interesting too, especially if that rejection provides some information about what you can do to resolve being able to place the bid.

I don't know if you buy from the same sellers consistently, but if you do I'd be interested to hear of instances where you can bid manually on auctions from sellers where you've had restrictions of this type reported from Gixen snipes.
