I've bid on auctions that didn't offer shipping to my country. Then I had to ask the seller to make an exception.

But this time Gixen showed the message that the auction was restricted and that the seller specified he didn't ship to Holland.

Is this a gixen thing, or would a manual bid have failed as well!

A manual bid would also have failed.

The seller must not have updated the auction and their chosen restrictions sufficiently to allow your bid to go through.

So, no, it's not a 'Gixen thing', Gixen only reports that failure when Ebay responds with a blockage.
