This can occur because Ebay blocks you from logging in via the Gixen server even though you are using the correct credentials.
If the problem persists please email Mario direct at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab above. Please always include your Ebay id in emails. _________________ Mark |

kmzs,
On the account that you have login failures for, have you set up the Gixen socks proxy in your browser and then attempted to log in to Ebay? _________________ Mark |

I found the socks proxy is the problem, I turned it off, then I can login. I just turned it on again, and it seems working currently as well. |

I'm now getting this too ?
I have Socks set correctly after an issue last week - forced password change on eBay and I got this error too, I waited an hour and then I was able to log in again.
But today I have only just turned on my PC and first time I try to log in I got this error ?
However, if I try to log in using another browser, say Edge with no proxy setup I can log in OK ? |

Are you using any saved credentials in your browser?
If so I would recommend typing in the credentials from scratch and not using the saved ones. _________________ Mark |

When I tried to log in 10 mins later it worked and with saved credentials
But just now some 2 hours later it again says too many failed attempts, so I deleted the saved credentials and typed them in again but it still failed.
So I tried a different browser without socks and that doesn't work either now ! |

When your account is suspended you have to wait an hour for the suspension to be lifted, it doesn't matter what browser you use. _________________ Mark |

Failed login lockouts after only 2 attempts are super frustrating. In this day and age, when you have to have an online account to do ANYTHING and when cyber security forces us to create different passwords for all of our dozens of online accounts, you should be given at least 5 attempts. What hacker or bot is going to guess your password in 5 attempts? |

njd96,
There is no choice, I am afraid.
At the next attempt that you get wrong, in quick succession, Ebay assumes that someone is trying to hack your account... and so they take action not just against your account, but against all the others using that IP address.
So, if you are not able to recall your credentials exactly each time you come here, please verify them first by logging into Ebay direct, and not by trying to log in here.
You could try asking Ebay to review its own security procedures, but I think they are probably unlikely to do so if your request is based on the argument you have proposed here. _________________ Mark |
