I have a mirror account and placed a bid and mirror bid on an ebay auction (same amount for both)
Gixen said i BID UNDER ASKING PRICE and so I did not win, but actually I did win. What does this mean? Is it because both bids were the same. I have done that before and did not get this msg.
ebay item 381633681389
thanks!

That is actually quite normal behaviour for Gixen.
Both servers act independently... so if one gets there first Ebay tells the other server that the bid must be higher (because you are not allowed to place the same bid at different times on Ebay), hence 'BID UNDER ASKING PRICE' .. at a later stage if it is the Mirror that won then the status on the Main gets updated to 'Won By Mirror' but that can take some time to happen.
So, if you get that status immediately after the auction has completed, I recommend selecting the other tab, and seeing what happened on the other server. _________________ Mark |

I was wondering the same thing. I bid on two different auctions. My regular gixen and my mirror also both list "bid under asking" on both results. Yet, I actually won both. it has been a couple of days and gixen and mirror both still have the same "bid undef asking"message listed for two different auctions. I agree that the message is very confusing. Especially for a new sniper. Thanks, Cupid, for explaining that it is a normal event. I appreciate your input. |

bidwisely,
If you have that same status on a single snipe ... and you actually won that auction ... and you had not scheduled any other snipes on that auction with any other sniping service, or bid on it manually yourself... then that may warrant some further investigation behind the scenes to see why that was the result here on Gixen...
If you would like that to happen please supply the Ebay auction number either here or in an email direct to Mario at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab above. If you email please include your Ebay id as well. _________________ Mark |

Thank you again, Cupid. Three samples listed in my status as "bid under asking" are: 371625932222, 371625015522, 371619332332. They all list my status as "bid under asking" but I won all three. Also, many of the others that I actually won, list the status only as "ended", rather than "won". So it is kind of difficult for me to track my wins or bids or really know what the "status" is of anything. Is this normal? |

bidwisely,
Are you sure you haven't used any other service? If not, this may be a consequence of recent changes I made to address frequent eBay timeouts. Gixen now waits only two seconds before giving up on a web request, then it immediately tries again. It's possible that the request still goes through after Gixen already gave up waiting for response. Subsequent retry will then get "bid under asking price" as identical maximum bid is already placed (by the same user).
I will see what I can do to address this. |

Hi Mario,
No, I do not have any other sniping service. I subscribe to mirror and only have regular Gixen or mirror. No other bidding other than what Gixen did. Thanks. |
