It means that Ebay was too slow responding to the login request for your account from that Gixen server.

Do you have a Mirror subscription? If so, did you receive that same status on both the Main and Mirror tabs?

If you do not have a subscription, getting one would be what I would advise as the best way to prevent further occurrences.

With only one server working for you, as many as 1 in 300 snipes do fail with errors similar to this.

If you already have a Mirror subscription, and received the same error on both servers, that could be an indication that something needs reconfiguring on your Ebay account... and may need to be looked into further.

I got the same error around the same time as this post and lost a item likely to win. I do have subscription and mirror with default settings.
Normally all works great.

That auction actually ended up at a price of GBP 256.00, didn't it?

In which case you could not have won.

I got a time-out on the Main today... but the Mirror was there as a back up for me... In this case the Mirror would have been blocked from winning by the higher bid of GBP 251.00 that was placed seven seconds before the auction finished, wouldn't it?

This was a group snipe, so it was not on mirror.

There is, however, an increased failure rate at the moment, with as many as 5-6 times number of failures as usual. I am looking at it.
