Gixen has been failing to snipe, and I'm receiving these errors for every auction. I followed the instructions to logout of ebay, clear cookies, change proxy to Gixen, place bid, etc. But Gixen continues to fail.

I am a mirror subscriber and the mirror is failing in the same manner.

Example items:
172121594173
201534690955
201534691394
201534691633
121913368066
more...

I've gone through this process in the past, and the suggested solution has worked. Unfortunately, today's error is a different beast altogether.

Actually it's not a different beast - the same process is supposed to work for this too. Please email me if it doesn't.

Mario,

I just followed the complete instructions again and placed a few more manual bids. As before, Ebay did not request any verification (text or otherwise) after I changed my proxy and placed a manual bid.

However, after following the provided instructions earlier in the day, all snipes (~35 total) failed. This usually happens ~3 times a year, and I am familiar with the process. Your detailed instructions work *most* of the time. Today is one of those days where they are not working, which makes me believe that something at ebay's end is different.

I don't have another schedule snipe for a few hours, so I will either post here or email you after I see the results.

Thank you for your time.

Okay, it's still not working. I followed *all* the steps in the instructions including password change and even multiple manual bids. I even logged in and out of ebay several times on different devices until they requested a phone/text verification, which I completed.

The result = 2 more failed snipes with the same Gixen error:
201534817976
191819188566

I hate to say this because Gixen has served me well for years, but I think it's important information to resolve the problem. As a backup plan in the last few hours since having this problem, I signed up for another web-based sniping program and both of their snipes went through fine. So, this appears to be a Gixen problem.

I'll send you an email too. I'd really like to keep using Gixen because I think it's still the best and most user-friendly sniping tool, but the ebay verification issue seems to be occurring with a greater frequency and is taking a serious toll on Gixen's reliability.

I notice that many of these auctions ended at exactly the same second.. didn't they?

That seems to be a particular issue these days... did you have different offsets for those snipes?

No, I don't think any of them ended on the same second. The closest were 7 seconds apart, but the majority were about a minute apart.

Furthermore, the problem started well before the big batch that were ~1 minute apart.

Gixen is still failing to place bids. One more example this morning:
172122477437

receiving this error: "COULD NOT BID: PHONE OR TEXT VERIFICATION REQUESTED BY EBAY"

I've gone through all the proxy steps twice now, completed the verification, and am still using the Gixen proxy on my local machine.

My mistake, my copying and pasting must have given me the same auction more than once.

Are you in email contact with Mario?... I suspect he may have to configure the socks proxy specifically for you so that you use exactly the same IP address as the Gixen server is using top try to place your bids. Ebay are making this more and more difficult, it appears, by being more and more specific about what they are blocking.

Any solution you come up would be greatly appreciated.

I sent Mario an email yesterday, but I haven't heard back from him. We've been in email contact before, so he should receive the message. I'll wait to hear back from him and will keep trying to figure it out at my end as well.

After ~48 hours, a dozen cache clearings, 3 password resets, and 3 phone/email verifications, Gixen just successfully placed a bid for me !

I have no idea what eventually ended up working. Perhaps just doing nothing on ebay for 12-24 hours?

It looks like ebay is always coming up with new ways to make life difficult for sniping tools, even though using these tools allows you to bid more easily and more often, which makes ebay more $ :-/

I'm getting the same error for the past 2 days. Changed password, verified account (3 times), disable Flash, changed LAN settings... noting helps.
