Is there a how-to on setting up the various types of grouping? At the moment I want to do a simple "if one of three auctions hits, I'm done" snipe. I put all three in a group; I hope one win ends the lot of them. But, one of the items (don't ask me why - they're the same thing and from the same seller) has a BIN. What happens if someone uses the BIN - do the other two snipes remain or end? Beyond all of this...

...There seems to be the capability of setting up groups which can only be tracked with Venn diagrams. But darned if I can figure out how to do that.

My apologies if this is a painfully obvious newbie question.

What you have done is correct.

If you only want to win one it is a Regular group that you use.

The rest of the Group of snipes is cancelled once Gixen wins one of them.

If someone else uses the BIN option it will not be possible for Gixen to win it for you, so no other snipes will be cancelled as a result. This would even be the case if you bought it yourself using the BIN option, Gixen only takes Group actions based on what it achieves itself.

There are other Group operations that are available if you have a Mirror subscription and you enable them via the Settings page. I recommend that, unless you understand that those options will do exactly what you want, that you avoid using them, at least until you are comfortable with the operation of Regular Groups, and you may well find you never need any more than that.

I've been using my mirror subscription for ...???... five years? Anyway, more than a couple of years. And, to date, I don't recall seeing anything about how to structure groups to any degree really.

OK - the lights are slowly coming on. It doesn't help that I'm presently the victim of a terrible DSL connection courtesy of T-(im)Mobile. It's taking several tries, on occasion, to get the snipes page(s) displayed. Which doesn't help when looking at the setting page.

NTL, I still raise the idea of a how-to taking advantage of the options Gixen offers.

I am not sure what the question, or suggestion, is here.

There are Group related options to enable you to win multiple items before the rest of the snipes are cancelled.

There is an option to have what are known as Contingency Groups which allow you to perhaps collect a whole set of something or take advantage of shipping discounts by only bidding after you have first won a related item.

Perhaps it would be best if you said what you wanted and perhaps it is possible or it can be considered for future inclusion?

Are you asking for more details of Group options to be added to the FAQ page perhaps?.. If that is the case, I think we need a volunteer to write the suggested text for that... anyone offering?
