SNIPING BROKEN, WORKING ON IT

Sniping is broken again for most users, due to ebay requesting captcha images.

I am trying to find a work around for this. I kindly ask for your patience.

EBAY is the one with probs! when it asks me for certification with the captcha image, nothing happens and it keeps asking over and over and over with nothing really happening. i tried to call ebay directly and they are closed and it keeps trying to throw the certification request at me.. but that doesnt work and i know i am entering the image right! i give up tonight... its ebay.. hopefully tomorrow they'll go back to their old ways where things actually work... arrghh! I know ebay is driving you crazy right about now, Mario! Hang in there!

It looks like those ebay 5 year old coders kids are trying make changes again every time they make a code change or a so called improvement they screw things up.
I see this with every so called improvement, the shipping labels are not working either on ebay there is a notice saying you can't print shipping labels until further notice, They should fire those idiots and hire some real coders.

I hope it was gets resolved soon. I have an item lm bidding on that ends at 1pm ny time tomorrow.

Service is restored now on Gixen main server. I am working on restoring it on Gixen mirror.

Signin should also work fine now for users who had problems with it yesterday and this morning.

As of right now (12/20 2:50pm CST) Gixen sniper service is broken again.

Cannot get snipe bidding to work. I can login to the Gixen service, but cannot get bids to work. When I setup the gixen proxy server as recommended, I can verify through Gixen that it is setup correctly and go to other websites, but when I try to go to ebay.com I get the "Unable to connect" page. Appears the proxy is blocked by eBay. Please help.

I still can... though I have what I think might be just a minor display issue once I have done so.

Perhaps it is related to which server your id is assigned to on the Gixen site... Is BoothillSales your Ebay id?

Yes, it is my eBay ID. Nothing has changed. I have been on Gixen for YEARS, and I have never had a problem. Today, however, when I try to log on, I get this message:

"Warning: pg_connect() [function.pg-connect]: Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: could not connect to server: Connection refused Is the server running on host "hercules.gixen.com" (198.178.117.163) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432? in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/gixen/bidsmirrordatabase.php on line 16"

Okay, I just logged in, but it wouldn't allow me to add the item number. THEN ... IT AUTOMATICALLY LOGGED ME OUT! What the heck is going on around here?

This is what i am getting after each bid has failed. Been doing this for last 48hrs.
Has anybody else had this message or tell me why i can't snipe????

I suspect that, in this case, it is specific to your Ebay account, and not related to the general changes that Ebay made to their systems recently (about which this thread was started by Mario).

You may need to verify your account against the Gixen server before Ebay will allow you to bid via it again... and, since instructions on how to perform that verification are given out on a 'need to know' basis, I recommend that you revert to using email direct to Mario at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab at the top right above.

Please always include your Ebay id, but never your password when emailing.

I spoke with eBay security and at the heart of the issue for my account was that they were picking up the sniping activity as logins from a computer with a different IP Address which initiates the Captcha - his only recommendation to me was to not login from on a different computer or IP.

Ridiculous. Now I'm locked out of my Gixen account so I cant even see which auctions I was supposed to snipe tonight. I buy and resell so snipe programs are important for me. Tonight's events probably will cost me $2G's or more...not happy.

Is the mirror service still down? I purchased the one year subscription and only noticed after the fact that it appears my listing does not get added to the mirror. I then read the support forum and from what I gathered Gixen is having issues logging in from the Mirror, is this why my desktop app does not allow me to add a mirror offset?

Website allows me to specify an offset for the mirror as well as main but the item never gets added to the mirror.

As far as I am aware the Mirror is currently functioning as expected.

Is xormac your Ebay id?

Please also note that snipes that are part of Groups are never Mirrored... if that is the case it might explain the operation that you are observing.
