hello everyone and thank you for having me on this forum..
can somebody please explain to me in plain english , why did i lose this bid...

notice some of the bidders went from bid to bid for more than the require bid increment...

Bid increment in that price range is $2.50. Your bid was less than the current high bid at the auction end ($242.51) + bid increment ($2.50) = $245.01.

Barely less, but still less. Hence ebay did not accept your bid.

It does depend on which currency the auction is listed in.

Here are the bid increments for dollars, since that is the currency your example was in:
