Getting this message for the very first time today -

Could not add, you have another scheduled snipe ending at the same time.

Why won't it let me add more than one snipe ending at the same time????

Because if you do that, both snipes will fail. This is no longer an if, it's a certainty. As soon as ebay realizes that bid is not placed by a human, it refuses it with a captcha screen.

This is new, obviously, things used to be better in the past.

wow, this is a huge problem for me. i deal with numerous sellers who end auctions in batches at the same time. i've tried to get them to space them out to no avail.

is this something ebay changed in the past 24 hours?

This has been going on for quite a while, with increased frequency of such bids being blocked. Now it came to the point that virtually all such bids are blocked, and not even using different offsets helps. It's too close anyway.

Has it been, or can it be, investigated whether a single log in session that places multiple bids could alleviate this issue somewhat?

I realise that might be difficult to get to from the current implementation in which, I believe, a new log in session is started for each snipe ?

It could, however the problem is it takes a while to place a bid. By the time you login and place a bid you are looking at 10-15 seconds at minimum.

Since the issue has now become acute... I believe it is still worth some investigation... It may not help at all, in which case it can be discounted as a solution.

Otherwise, users may prefer having bids placed even 10 to 15 seconds earlier than they would ideally like on some auctions... rather than having to do it manually, or not be able to snipe at all.

Perhaps others could add to the debate and also share their views on this if they are looking at this thread?

This is a considerable issue for me - I buy from many sellers who use automated services to load auctions in batches, consequently ending them at the same time (often to the second).

Conversely, I have never once been troubled by the issue that apparently has resulted in this - my snipes have never been rejected for being too close together (or, indeed, any other reason that has not been explained by an ebay outage). Perhaps this is because I never bid using ebay - I always snipe via gixen. My only ebay-direct interactions are on BIN items.

I will certainly have difficulty if gixen continues to block multiple same-time snipes. While I can probably make arrangements with some sellers I am a regular with, most won't be able to do anything about it, so I am stuck with either choosing just one item ending in a batch or letting auctions go.

I hope some resolution to this can be found - since finding gixen I have never looked back, and I'm sure I've saved thousands with it over the years, so it would be both a shame and a profound inconvenience to have to stop now.
