Every time I try to import my watch list now, nothing happens. I've added a bunch more items to it, and they are there in eBay, but Gixen won't import them. |

Note that import feature may not work sometimes, especially if you use it often. It's a convenience feature, not a necessity. When it doesn't work, please add your snipes manually. |

I've had this non-importing problem as well in the last few days, and I've hardly logged in to Gixen at all for the last three months.

It does not seem to be a feature that can be made to operate reliably because of the way Ebay blocks accounts that log in from a Gixen server often but don't place bids.. that is the only way that an import feature can operate...
I think Mario's advice is wise that no-one should rely on it and should expect to add snipes manually... personally I find the manual method LESS time consuming anyway. _________________ Mark |

The import, from ebay, feature is not working, for some time, days. I have not used gixen for any other activity in days prior. The is something more than just ebay not accepting the over use of the import feature, as advised in the past with similar occurrences.; I note other peoples similar issues of non importing of ebay lists.
Kindly advise and resolve the matters presented.
otherwise a great product.
thanks and regards. |

The Gixen software can not be changed to work for you if the issue is that Ebay are blocking the feature for your account.
The best advice is not to use it for a while, by which I mean some days, the more often you press the button the less likely it is that it will start working again. That is because the software trying to make it work for you actually makes Ebay block it for longer.
You can always add your snipes manually, that is what we are suggesting you do. _________________ Mark |

My watch list is not importing either. The suggestion to enter snipes manually defeats the most of usefulness of Gixen. |

Why so?
When the import function works you then have to go through each snipe and edit it in order to set the bid amount... and to do that you need to review the listing for things like the shipping cost and the condition. I have never found that to be an efficient use of my time.
What I do is specify the bid amount when I enter the auction number then push the 'Add' button... which is a much faster and more direct process. _________________ Mark |

I have been aware of the issue with attempting to import "too often" for a while now, yet I am having the same problem now as well - nothing is importing, even when waiting sufficient time between attempts.
Not all of us bid on every item we watch, so I agree with Ajmartintn that having to manually enter every item detracts from the usefulness quite a bit. |

I also set snipes on a tiny fraction of what I find... so, I do not see any point in importing a load of snipes that I will never set a snipe amount on.
How does it improve the Gixen experience to have snipes imported from your watch list that just clutter up your display (and the Gixen servers)... I am puzzled by someone regarding that as a positive reason for retaining this feature. _________________ Mark |

The watch list importation makes a difference to me. In my case, I'm having some problems with my laptop, so the fewer keystrokes, the better. Being able to see my list appear so I can view it is helpful. The extra work in doing it manually makes me less likely to use this service. It's tedious.
Just stating my view; I see that you disagree. |

I made some changes that should improve success of watchlist import. However, it's still possible that it will not work on occasion. I understand the convenience of it, but for many years Gixen served many users even without this feature, so it's definitely non-essential. If it works - great, but if it doesn't please use manual copy/paste. |

|
|
Counter to Gixen's assertion to the contrary, in light of the recent reported changes to the import list and recurring problem of non importing ebay watch list, I write to advise that as of 15/09/2015 "at" 14:45 UK time, the function does not work, as it has in the past; note I do not consider the import item to be an optional extra, where infact it is one of the primary reasons I use the Gixen tool.
Kindly advise.
Thank-you in advance of your solution...... |

Writing again to advise of intermittent service issues, the failure of the import service to import ebay lists into Gixen.
Incidentally the alternative service provider EZsnipper works importing the lists so conclude the issue is of Gixens making, with recent programming changes.
Kindly advise.
Thanks
Regards. |

help-support-please,
When watchlist import fails, it fails due to volume of login requests from a specific IP. On one occasion it may work, and on another it may not.
Understand it as a convenience feature - when it doesn't work, it's not a blocking issue - please enter your snipes manually. |

Can't import watch list so added item number manually and placed bid but this didn't work either. The item sold for less than my bid and when I checked Gixen my bid wasn't even on the screen. |

Lucy - these are two completely unrelated issues. Watchlist import is frequently blocked by ebay with captchas, and is a non-essential feature.
However, if you scheduled a snipe manually, and it didn't work, that's very different - please let me know what the item id is, and I will investigate. |

I don't overuse this feature but it has not worked for a couple of weeks
I realize this is an ebay function that is blocking me. Hope it works again someday.
