I started having this problem today where I get the following text on all my bids through Gixen:
COULD NOT BID: PHONE OR TEXT VERIFICATION REQUESTED BY EBAY
Why did this snipe fail?
I did set up my browser to use gixen proxy as suggested. It does not work.
I keep getting:
Your IP address is: 199.168.96.74
This means that you are not connected to Gixen socks proxy.
Please follow the instructions below on how to connnect.
when I refresh the window.

I have no problem placing a bid manually on eBay and it does not ask me to verify my account.
BTW, I never had this problem with Gixen before.
Also I gegistered myself on the mirror server a couple of days ago but I don't think that is related to the problem.

Hi Amnon,

That IP address is apparently in Missouri... so if that is where you are then it is correct and you have not yet configured the Gixen Proxy correctly.

I must admit I have no idea where the Gixen main servers are located... they might be in Missouri.. and the problem lies with the Gixen software not recognising the IP address of the Gixen server you are connected to, when it should.Mario will be able to tell us which of these is true.

In any case it does look like you do need to use the Gixen proxy correctly configured in order to sort this out.

The fact that you can log in and bid from home is not the issue and not, in this case, an indication that Gixen can bid for you from its' own server... you need to have the Gixen proxy enabled in order to then associate and verify your Ebay account via the Gixen server.

I doubt that your Mirror subscription is the sole cause of the issue, but it is certainly possible that logging in to your Ebay account from many different locations can be a contributory factor in Ebay asking for further verification.

That *is* a Gixen IP. While I still call them "Chicago" and "Miami", both locations are different now as I changed ISPs, and subsequently server locations changed (and may be subject to change in the future too, though this will not happen frequently for sure).

OK, so the issue is that the software is not recognising the Gixen IP address and thus not displaying the correct message/page.

I'm sure Mario will sort that out, so that you see the correct page next time.

In any case you now need to see what Ebay is asking you to do with the proxy in place... perform that verification and then, hopefully, you should be back in business with Gixen being able to snipe for you again.

I got the same message this morning and followed the steps in the message including changing my ebay password and it hasn't worked.I can't place bids or import my watch list to Gixen so i have given up and will just enter my bids manually on ebay.
I don't think it has anything to do with mirror as i have used mirror for sometime now with no problems until today.

It's still not working so obviously it's not been fixed yet i am having to enter my bids manually on ebay they don't work on Gixen.
