It is a known issue that auctions that you have placed bids on are not imported from your watch list.
Have you placed any bids on that item? _________________ Mark |

I did post a bid on one item AFTER it didn't import. HOwever, no other watch list items, including ones I've not bid on, are importing either. |

I think Mario said recently that this feature is causing issues with Ebay and may have to be discontinued as a result. _________________ Mark |

Thanks for the info. But I'm not sure what feature you mean is causing problems. As I said, the watch list stopped importing BEFORE I bid on any of the watch list items.
When I first signed up for Gixen there was a process I went through to have Ebay recognize the server I (Gixen) was sending from. I can't find the post that instructed me how to do that.
Do you know where that info is?
Thanks again. |

It is the Watch List Import function itself that is causing Ebay to put captcha screens up that prevent automated access to their site for screen scraping.
This is because in order to get access to your watch list Gixen has to log in from the Gixen server with your id and password.. but then you don't place any bids... just look at your watch list pages.
Ebay increasingly recognise this is happening from somewhere other than where you live and they don't like it because it resembles what hackers do when they try to gain unauthorised access to your Ebay account.
The sniping function is tolerated by Ebay since bids are placed during that process, which is what earns Ebay money, they don't want to stop that happening.
If you are going to use the watch list import, I recommend that you only use it occasionally, and don't keep doing it every day.
If you need to verify your Ebay account with the Gixen server again it is best if you request the instructions from Mario via email since the information is provided on a need to know basis.. it would not be sensible policy for everyone to have access to the Gixen proxy all the time.
Mario can be contacted at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab above. _________________ Mark |

very helpful, Mark. Thank you.
I will stop using "Import Watch List" every day!
And I'll ask Mario for the Gixen proxy info.
Thanks again. |
