This is in regard to item #321473950332. It said I lost the auction because my bid was under the asking price. I actually won it though. At the time I bid the price was $22.99, and I had my snipe price at $69.59. It closed at $23.50. Could it have something to do with I also had a snipe of the same price with Auctionstealer? I think Auctionstealer's snipes are at 8-10 seconds before end. Did it not bid because there was no reason to top the Auctionstealer bid? Why would it say I was under the asking price though? Not understanding that part. Just trying to figure this all out.
BTW, this software is really dangerous. Set a woman loose with this in designer jewelry and she can do some serious damage...LOL! It works - maybe too well! With Auctionstealer it gave me a few snipes and I was often too lazy or forgot to place the bids, or didn't check my email to see something was ending. This makes it almost too easy to win, but I'm not complaining!!! I'm going back for more!!! |

Ebay does not allow you to place a bid of the same amount twice.. it will only allow a higher bid, hence 'BID UNDER ASKING PRICE' is correct if there is already a bid from your account of the same amount or lower.
So, by using a service that places earlier bids you block Gixen from being able to place the bid for you... Your winning bid was placed 16 seconds before the end, Gixen bids later than that.
Gixen will only give you a status of 'WON' if it placed the bid that won it. _________________ Mark |

Thanks Cupid for explaining that. I didn't realize that AS bid that far away from the auction end. So Gixen will only kick in when the bid set in AS in lower than the bid needed to win the auction, and then Gixen takes over if it has a larger enough snipe amount to outbid the current bid. I'm just feeling my way around and wanted to make sure I won that particuular auction. I will probably get the mirror service so I don't have to worry and have to use AS which is lame. |

Thanks so much for your response. I just want to clarify something though. Placing an earlier bid with Auctionstealer will only stop Gixen from bidding if the bid is the same or more than the Gixen bid? If the Gixen bid is higher than the Auctionstealer bid, and higher than the current high bid, then Gixen will still bid for you? Thanks again for your help! |
