Hello. I am new to Gixen & ebay. I am attempting to use Gixen to secure a comic book on ebay. Uncanny X-Men #141. I am entering the item # & the money amount into the boxes, but it is telling me "Could not add this item - auction number or money format not valid (281290324915, $68.00)."
What is the problem, I wonder? The item # is correct. Maybe it is the money format? I want to use Paypal to make my purchase. I do not have a credit card. I use Paypal. Is that the problem, you think? Any help would be appreciated.....thank you! |

This guy only ships to the USA so maybe that is the problem?
If your shipping adress is for another country then you can't bid I think.
But I am pretty sure your problem is that you added your bid as $68.00 instead of just 68.00. There is no need to add $ as gixen will bid the amount in the currecy that the auction is in.
Also on a sidenote: I doubt you will win it for 68 if the price right now is already at 67, but you could always try ofcourse |

Just to confirm - the issue is likely the $ sign. Just enter the bid amount, 68.00 without any currency signs. The currency used is always the currency of the listing. |

Thanks for the response, Newbie! I am in the USA (in New Orleans), so that can't be the problem......maybe it is that dollar sign! I'm gonna try leaving that off, we'll see if that does the trick! |

Alright, someone has outbid me.....I am trying to enter a higher bid, but it says "sorry, this item is already present". What does that mean? Does that mean that someone else already has a higher bid scheduled? |

To clarify, once you have a snipe scheduled, if you want to change the amount, using the web interface, you should use the 'Edit' button to the right of the snipe, then enter the new amount and press the 'Modify' button that is then available to the right of the snipe input boxes. _________________ Mark |
