I tried installing on windows 8.1 with compatibility mode but get error. SOCKET ERROR # 10060 CONNECTION TIMED OUT. can anyone help?

Have you tried setting up a short-cut on your desktop to run the Gixen Desktop Manager and then setting the properties for that short-cut to have compatibility mode for windows XP?

Doesn't the Windows firewall block outgoing connections by unsigned applications by default?
