| same here as well, anyone nkow whats going on and if we can recover preprogrammed item#s? gixen is so awesome that i preffer it to ebays watch list, but unfortunately no backup now =( and i just found out about gixens import watch list function |

I can see no issues, with my own account, this may be specific to certain accounts or it may have been fixed... please continue to report it here if you still have this problem.

By the way, I get these error message in Chrome. Tried Firefox, but it's not working either. Then tried Gixen Desktop Manager and got an ERROR (1002) GIXEN DOWN.

Server has crashed, by the looks of it. Needs a reboot.

AGGGHHH the Anti-Bot is dreadful. It took me about 10 goes, even tried starting a new post. Needs to have a way to refresh and get a new image. Mine showed 80/353 but the 3rd character is actually a 7 without the horizontal line at the top. As if I could guess that when it said "enter characters" rather than "enter numbers"  |

What I think happens is that the database is split between machines on the Gixen Main... different users are signed to different machines... so it is possible for some users to be affected when others are fine... I have no problem with my account at the moment... but this problem is obviously affecting many other users.
Please provide your ebay account name... From your reports, I imagine that the problem lies with a machine named 'sokrat'... but that not all users are assigned to that machine.
From my investigations from the UK it would appear that the server in question is still running (it responds to ping requests) but I think perhaps a process essential to accessing the database has failed on that machine only.
I will try to contact Mario... he is the only one with access to the servers and qualified to investigate at this level. He may be travelling at this precise moment, or be otherwise engaged for a short period so please have patience.

Hi,
Different machines, same effect, desktop version not working either.
I am not a computer techie but for me is something looks like a fault, acts like a fault and throws up error messages like a fault, it is a fault.

Yes karina2710 my id - looks like the database has crashed to me. Presumably it will not be making any bids on items we have listed? |

The problem is fixed now.
One of the backend servers (Mark you are right, there are multiple) was rebooted during the night. I haven't received any reply yet from the hosting facility as to why.
As a result of this incidence, 261 snipes were not executed, and 184 users were potentially affected. I say potentially, as many of these users have mirror subscription, and mirror server was operating flawlessly during this time.
My apologies to all affected users. I will post more information when I receive a response from the hosting facility. |

| It turned out that corenetworks (Gixen main ISP) had a maintenance that affected one of Gixen servers. It turned out that they missed to send me a warning email that should have been sent two weeks ago, but instead only sent an email at the start of the maintenance. |
