Hi,

This auction (330889122452) seems strange because my bid won but by my max bid not a the lower one. There is a significant amount between the last bid price and mine. Further, I usually see the both the mirror bid and my "offset" bids (like this one 111011839922) but not on this time.

Could you look into this?

Thanks,

You cannot bid against yourself, ever. Was there a reserve price set by the seller? I can no longer see it, but I bet that there was one, and it just happened that it's the same as your maximum bid.

Are you saying reserve price or "Buy it now"?
Could you what exactly happens if there was a reserve price = to my max bid? Did it cancel the mirror bid? How would I know this beforehand if the "Buy it now" price is gone.

Thanks,

Reserve price. That's what it looks like to me. When there is a reserve price set, ebay will "jump" to the reserve amount with the first bid that's higher or equal to the reserve price. That's why you see that hike from 150 to 250 with no other visible bid to push it that high.

As for the mirror bid, again, you cannot bid against yourself. Both main and mirror servers submit your maximum bid to ebay, and then ebay's proxy bidding system sorts out how much is needed in order to win.

I agree it must be that the reserve set by the seller was 250.

If you are not convinced you could ask the seller if they set the reserve at 250... I'm sure they will confirm it.

The second bid was not placed by Gixen on this occasion, this will be because ebay blocked the second bid because ebay judged that the two bids, of the same amount, came in at different times... this happens often and isn't a failure of the Gixen system.
