|
|
When I update my offsets in settings both offsets appear to have updated until I click to edit a bid, and then the mirror offset always reverts back to 6 (default) in the selection box.
I have tried setting the offsets and pressing update multiple times and logging out and back in, but the mirror always reverts back to 6 (default) when I go to edit a bid.
Seems like some kind of glitch or bug. |

Playing around I found that clicking the Purge Completed button, even though I did not have any completed auctions imported, resulted in fixing the problem.
Now the Mirror setting is showing up correctly when I go to edit bids. So Purge Completed must do more than just remove completed auctions? Does it clear or refresh settings or something too? |

Nevermind...
It only worked for a few bid edits, so it might have been something else I did, then it went back to 6 (default) for the mirror again. Clicking Purge Completed doesn't seem to do anything now. |

I have both my default offsets set to 8 on my settings page.
I can't replicate the problem, both my Main and Mirror offsets remain as 8 when I set up new snipes or edit existing ones.
What is your eBay id?... If you don't wish to share it here you can email Mario, his contact details are on the 'Contact' tab above. _________________ Mark |

After further experimentation it seems to intermittently go back and forth between my setting and "6 (default)" and I have no idea what makes it change.
I do see others have had a similar problem:

Do the servers possibly cache items which have been imported previously, even though they may have been deleted and re-imported? |

...but then that would not make sense, unless only the mirror server caches, because the Main offset is always correct to my setting. |

These are snipes that you have imported from your watch list?
Are you taking account of the fact that default updates on the settings page only affect new snipes whether they be imported or set up from scratch here using the web interface and the 'Add' button?
Existing snipes are not changed by altering the defaults. _________________ Mark |

Yes, I had deleted all the items and started from scratch, so they were all newly imported. But what I'm thinking now is that the mirror server must still store the offset somewhere, even when an item is deleted and re-imported. |

I need your username to see what's wrong, I couldn't replicate the problem. Email me if you don't want it posted in the forum. |

Not yet, the problem seems to be that import feature always imports items with the default offset 6, instead of user defaults. I need to check this, but it's not a show stopper by any means. |
