Back at zero. Paid my new subscription and the desk top no longer works. It took forever to extract it and to get working before and now can't get to open again after the sub. payment.
Really annoyed with it. |

karlyslebynd, subscription has nothing to do with it. Why would it take forever to extract it? That's a really small zip file, nothing big. What do you get when you start it? |

I will try and explain this as precisely as possible so to avoid a quip reply.
After I paid the subscription upon opening the Desk top manager an error box opens stating: (Could not get list. API returned: GDM version obsolete. Please upgrade to GDM 1.3.5 or newer).
I did this, and now am unable to unzip the folder to a usable/readable state. It will only open in Notepad as a coded or whatever you call it, page. No other program will open it. When I downloaded the old version I had the same problem until something occurred after going through the procedure to unzip several times until I finally got it to open to a usable state. Now, what is related to this, that and the other I can not say, but this is the present status.
The desk top manager may be ever so simple to get working for someone that has nothing to do but sit on their computer all day, but I have other things to do.And as a paid subscriber/customer I do believe I deserve (as do others) more effort from the authors of this product to resolve this and other problems |

Have you tried using Windows Explorer to view the .zip file?
There is an option on the drop down menu that appears when you right click on the file that allows you to 'Extract' the contents. _________________ Mark |

karlyslebynd,
What would be showing more effort than I already do?
Something is wrong with file associations on your desktop, notepad shouldn't be used to open a zip archive.
Try downloading 7-zip and unzipping the file with that program (it's free). You shouldn't have any issues doing it. If you do, please let me know. |
