|
|
hi.
i am a mirror subscriber, so if i understand everything correctly, i should have:
- regular groups (for winning 1 of several items; for example if i want to win the cheapest bike)
- contingency groups (for cancelling everything in a group if i use at least 1 item; for example if i want to by a bike in parts, and if i lose the wheel, i don't need other parts anymore)
- multi-win groups (for example i want to win ALL bikes and then sell them for my own prices as the only owner).
is it correct?
if so, the second part of the question is:
i have now:
- 5 contingency groups
- 80 regular groups
- no multi-win groups
though they are all enabled on the "settings" page.
why no multiwin and is 80 regular groups a default?
thanks. |

The first part is correct, you have access to all those features if you set up your configuration on the Settings page to enable them.
I'm surprised you have 80 regular groups I only have 10, maybe you are a special case for this?
Regular Groups become Multi-Win Groups when you configure them to win more than one item on the Settings page. _________________ Mark |

Default is 10 groups, but mirror subscribers can increase this to up to 80 on the Gixen settings page (Mark, one user asked for more than 10 groups, so I added this as an option). Only the first 10 groups (Group 1 to 10) can be used as multi-win groups, again to be set on the settings page.
jk - I am not sure you understood the meaning of multi-win - it's a way to win, let's say 3 out of 5 items in a group. If you want to win everything, just don't group the items. That way you also take advantage of mirror, as group bids use only one server. |

oh, now i think i understand multiwin, thanks
some questions to check myself:
so regular=multiwin and that's why i don't see "multiwin" group among them?
and so, if i want to win 2 items from 10 existing on ebay, i should ad them all to one of the regular groups (for example group 5), then go to "settings" and set this:
Group: Group 5
Items to win before canceling remaining: 2
it will be multi-win because "items to win" is not 1.
right?

p.s. how do you make a forum profile instead of guest replying? |

Yes, only you first define number of items to win, and then add items to that group, not the other way around. |

Ah thanks Mario, I had missed that new setting, found it now.
jk,
Only Mario can create forum ids, it is only worth doing if you intend to post on this forum on a regular basis, there are only a few of us that do that, _________________ Mark |

Sumflow,
Are you asking why we are not able to create our own forum profiles?
It is because when the option is made available there are automated processes that create new profiles and use them to post inappropriate content here.
Mario tried it some years ago, the result was a mess, all the time, even with him deleting as much of it as he could. _________________ Mark |
