Desk Top different to main site

I put a query on here as to why a snipe didn't activate last week. It was really disappointing as my bid was way way higher than the winning bid and I could've placed a manual bid.

I want to try again for a similar item.

I'm now checking and double checking everything -

desktop manager shows scheduled snipe with main and mirror at 6/3 (done by me) and item details with active countdown

When looking at my account from Gixen site there is no snipe showing at all
The settings page tells me there is no email address for my account and that mirror service is not active for my account

I've now added the snipe details to the main web page. Will this be enough?

Also-

Do I leave the countries as they are ie US?
Is it ok for the main and mirror to be different and is 6/3 ok ?

What was the item number that did not execute? I can't investigate without it.

Are you logging in to Gixen web and GDM using the same account? Please email me, and include your username.

Sounds like the failed snipe has been answered but none of the other issues.

And there's more...I now can't log into GDM either. First message is 'could not get user country' then when I click ok I get 'Error 101'.

OK lets get it clear where we are now...

Do you now have consistency between what you see in GDM and what you see when you log in here?

Do you have a Mirror subscription, and if so at the bottom of the snipes page here does it tell you how long that is good until?

Yes, if you see your snipe here on the web after logging in with your correct eBay credentials then that should be enough.

It is sufficient to leave the default settings on the page you get after pushing the Settings button as pointing to the US, no matter where you live... however if you live outside the US and/or use one of the other satellite sites (i.e. not .com) for most of your eBay activity you may wish to change them to that site... it only really matters with respect to viewing items when you click on the links or if there are subsequent issues with a purchase and you want to raise a case with eBay, they insist that this is done on the site where the bid was placed.

With a Mirror subscription it is up to you what you set the offsets to, if they are different then the most likely scenario is that the server with the highest offset (in your scenario the Main) will always get there first and the other (the Mirror in your case) will only ever place bids if the Main fails. There is nothing wrong with that, so long as you are happy with that operation.

Thanks for your help Mark, that answers quite a few q's. I'd been sending a quite involved message to support before I say your response.

I only subscribed to the site and to mirror last week and it's showing on Paypal.

Initially only the Gixen site showed no subscription to mirror
Now both Gixen site and GDM show no mirror

It's driving me insane

Hmm... I am not privy to your email conversation with Mario... so if I contradict that or appear to be asking questions you have already answered there ... please bear with me.

Have you changed your eBay id since subscribing to Gixen Mirror?

If so, you will need to use the Mirror transfer process, available on the Settings page, to move your subscription to your new name.

sorry wasn't ignoring you on purpose! At some point on Saturday Mario had told me there was a problem and to give it 24 hours so not to log in so's to let it resolve itself. My bid disappeared and I did it manually.

My Gixen account is still showing I haven't subscribed to the mirror service despite Paypal confirming payment.

I haven't changed my username or password at all either with Ebay or Gixen, not then, not now, not ever.

I'm afraid to rely on it now in case it just doesn't work again.

I see your username slightly different than suepabs... it begins with sue, but the remainder is your last name, not "pabs".

Could this be the problem?

I transferred your subscription to suepabs. Now it should be fine.
