I am running windows 7. For the most part the windows manager works very well but after 3 or 4 edit updates has a tendency to hang with the message:
"done refreshing
connecting to gixen"
If you close the desktop manager, wait 5 seconds, and re-open it the issue clears. If you don't it remains hung indefinitely with the top buttons like add and edit greyed out. |

I'll see what I can do to implement some sort of timeout, to avoid hanging. What kind of internet connection do you have? Is it possible that there are intermittent connectivity problems? |

Bresnan cable modem.
The desktop manager works just fine until you stress it out by changing the status of 3 or 4 bids in a short period. If you perform these same transactions over a 5 minute period then no problem is encountered.
I ran into a glitch where I was adjusting some items, the desktop manager hung, and by the time I had it re-connected I was sub 2 minutes on an auction and was frozen out. Now, don't get me wrong, this was a peculiar circumstance and I am cool with it. It was my own fault for low balling.
BTW is there a way to select multiple items on the manager list (shift doesn't work). This would be useful for a batch delete of expired auctions. Perhaps deleted items could be dumped to an archive log file (*.txt). |

Not yet - I only recently implemented it in the web UI.
GDM will be much of my focus in the next period, so this is one of the improvements I will certainly look into implemented.
The other things you described, like making it more resistant to subsequent user actions in a short period of time also need attention. |
