This is the message on an auction Gixen bid for me:
Item: 293654473504
Title: Dell T5810 - Xeon 2697 v3 14-core (up to 3.6GHz) - 64GB RAM - AMD FirePro W2100
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Status (mirror): INVALID AUTHORIZATION
Your maximum bid: 319.51
Current price: 430.00
The bid was below the asking price so that was okay but why was this message from the mirror:
Status (mirror): INVALID AUTHORIZATION |

You need to update your ebay authorization. This is free of charge, and you can do this from the Gixen settings page. eBay requires this every 18 months. |

I had exactly the same error on the mirror yesterday, resulting in a failed snipe on item 224087587877. The authorisation date was in the future, but I have re-authorised anyway. |

Sometimes the authorisation gets revoked by Ebay and Gixen doesn't get to find out about it until a snipe fails for this reason.
Things like changing your Ebay password or Id name are known to be associated with that happening.
So whenever you get this error it is best just to renew it, no matter what Gixen indicates with respect to expiry. _________________ Mark |

I had a message from ebay about a possible fraudulent attempt to access my account, so I changed the password. This explains it! |

Gixen checks for authorization validity at every login, but not more often that that. |

I just checked again - and what I said in the previous post is not entirely accurate. Gixen checks for authorization validity at every login *if* it was not already checked for in the last 24 hours. |
