Gixen did not place bid

Hi,

I had two snipes yesterday whereby my bid does not seem to have been placed, as I was not even notified by Ebay that my bid had failed.

On the Gixen page I am told that "No linked PayPal account. Buyer does not have a linked PayPal account.". However I have previously sniped and won auctions even without a linked paypal account - I simply log into paypal when I want to make the purchase later on.

Why is this an issue now? Is there an issue with Gixen, or is this a new thing with Ebay?

Some sellers on eBay will only accept payment via PayPal and set their auctions so that only bids from bidders with a linked PayPal account will be accepted. Since you are using a sniping service, there is no way for you to see that eBay rejected your bid. That is one of the downsides of sniping.

The only way to avoid this in the future is to create a PayPal account and link it to your eBay account.
