I entered the info 15-20 minutes early, but my bid never happened. Could it be because there was a reserve and a "buy it now"? Item number 162172640446
This is from the interface... "ENDED 101.01 137.50 USD BID UNDER ASKING PRICE"
I big on something else after that, 4 minutes in advance, and it worked just fine.
Thanks for any help for future bids |

Was that the same status as you got on the Mirror tab?
What was the offset on your snipe, at 4 seconds before the end of the auction the auction price was 137.50, so your bid would have been rejected (and that is the correct status for that) by Ebay if later than that.
As it turns out, it was impossible for you to win that auction anyway as at that price the re4serve was not met. _________________ Mark |

Thanks, Cupid! I don't have a mirror yet, but that's exactly the reason...the bidding had already surpassed the amount I entered as my bid. Thanks for your help.
Now I'm just trying to figure out a way to scrape item numbers of sellers who list 100s of items per day that I'm interested in so that I can import them via CSV. |

what it means is that your bid wasnt high enough to bid... by increment... for example your bid was 35... and it looked like you had a bid that should have worked earlier on.. but by the time your snipe came thru... the bid was maybe 45.. so of course your bid was under the asking price... |

It isn't as easy as it sounds... you have to set up your software so that Ebay thinks you are a real person interacting with it... and process the raw code that they send back to you thinking you are a browser operated by that person. Even when you get that right, what you will then find is that from time to time Ebay change the format of the page so that your software no longer picks up the correct values.
As a first pass you might be best off investigating the use of your Watch or Gixen lists and using the Import buttons for those... however, please use those two buttons sparingly, because over use can unfortunately cause Ebay to take action against your account that prevents snipes going through for a while.. but that is a whole other story... _________________ Mark |

I set it up to run a test just now and successfully retrieved 40 item numbers. It's taking too long, though, with having to open up every page in the search results. I'll eventually make it return the URL link from each result in the search, and then let excel take the item number from that. |

Also, I'd like to subscribe to the mirror service so that I can upload IDs from CSV, but I would rather not use the mirror. Is it possible to turn the mirror off in the settings? I'm fine with one place sending my bids. |

I don't recommend turning off the Mirror, if you have paid the $6 for the extra reliability that it gives you. Why would you want to do that? Having two servers bidding independently of one another for you is the most important advantage of the Mirror subscription.
There isn't a switch, as such, to turn off the Mirror...
However, thinking about it, since Grouped snipes are not Mirrored, you could set up a Multi win group for thousands of wins, and the set all the snipes to be in that group. _________________ Mark |

I really just want the ability to upload 100s of IDs via CSV. And I'm not crazy about being logged on in several places at once...I've had my fair share of eBay problems! lol
Plus, I recently read some problems on here about the double logging in...so I'm happy with 99.5% success.
You multi-win group sounds like the answer for me. Bid on 100 items, wanting to win 20...no mirror. It's win/win! |

Got it figured out! Just uploaded 40+ item numbers from URLs that I scraped, then had excel pick the item number out for me. Piece of cake! |
