Things seem back to normal as i won at least one bid that GIXEN succeeded in listing with ebay. but you can not depend on others to do all your work for you. its best to check into gixen now and then to read the help and support questions |

sale1579,
They will have been cancelled due to an earlier failure.
On the failure, that caused this, you should have a link that leads to instructions about how to resolve this by enabling the Gixen socks proxy in your browser. Then you can verify your account on Ebay against the Gixen server. _________________ Mark

Bids canceled, text verification required. I was forced to change my password yesterday for the first time in years. I can't import my watch list for the first time ever. |

bidder999,
As per my last post above... please follow the instructions to enable the Gixen socks proxy and verify your account.
This will also be the reason that Gixen can not import your watch list... if it can't log in then it won't be able to access your watch list. _________________ Mark |

I don't see *any* instructions for the proxy, simply because I don't know where they are. Could you provide a URL/link please? |

They should be available when you select the link on the original snipe that caused the problem... before all the rest that will be cancelled as a result.
If that is not the case, or if you have deleted that snipe then you need to request the link to the instructions via email to Mario direct at the support address given on the Contact tab above.
This is because the instructions are only provided on a 'need to know' basis.
In emails always include your Ebay id, but never your password. _________________ Mark |

|
|
In Firefox I followed the instructions and it seemed to work because I got this message:
Your IP address is: 6*
This means that you are connected to Gixen socks proxy.
I placed one bid on an auction on Ebay manually and never recieved an ebay request to confirm through text. However, I just went into Gixen and still can't import my watch list. Same error as before using the proxy:
"No items imported. If you have items on your watchlist, and they do not get imported, it is possible that eBay blocked watchlist import with captcha images. Please enter your items manually by copy/pasting item id(s)."
Will sniping still work, even though I can't import my watch list? I doubt it as this was the case this morning, no import and no snipe ability. |

I set the proxy, reset ebay password, readded items to gixen. Chicago is now fine, however Miami mirror is still not working, because there is no proxy for that server I think. |

bidder999,
If you can access your watch list on Ebay with the Gixen socks proxy in place, without Ebay putting any blocks in place like Captcha images, even if Gixen temporarily will not import you watch list, then there is a good chance that snipes you have set up will be able to be executed by Gixen.
It isn't recommended to over use the import facility, because that, in itself, can cause Ebay to impose limits that prevent it from working for a while on your Ebay account.
kmzs,
What error are you getting for your snipes on the Mirror tab?
If you need to verify your account against the main Gixen server, that should usually carry across to apply for the Mirror too. _________________ Mark |

|

Thanks Cupid. I have, at times, been auto importing up to 50 items at once. I'll stop doing that. I just installed the Firefox plugin and will use that instead.
I can use ebay just fine on firefox through the proxy so hopefully it will work. I have a snipe set to happen in 2 hours. |

I had a snipe fail again this afternoon even though on using the Gixen socks proxy. It's still asking for phone verification. I'm not sure what else I can try at this point. I changed my password yesterday, cleared my history, and can use ebay through the proxy just fine.

My guess is that the proxy isn't replicating the bidding that Gixen is doing accurately enough for your account... so Mario may need to configure it specifically for you... at this stage I would recommend emailing Mario direct at the support address given on the Contact tab above. _________________ Mark |
