The snipes will have been cancelled as a precaution when Gixen was unable to log in to your account in order to place an earlier snipe.

Have you changed your password on Ebay recently?

If so please follow the guide I wrote earlier on this thread:

Hi, no the snipes have not been cancelled, they are still present in my Gixen list and I only received emails for 6 out of 10 sniped I have listed ?

Yes I have changed my password a few days ago when Mario reported an attack and eBay forced me to change it.

However all my snipes disappeared at that time, see my previous post and I had to recreate them. Also I have had several successfully placed sniped since that time. Including once since I received the 6 emails earlier today ???

Interestingly the last snipe says "WON BY MIRROR" ???

i.e. the Chicago server snipe did not get placed, only the Miami one ! ?

So what's that all about ?

OK, this is going from bad to worse !

I just lost an auction with the following error "Verification code required by eBay, could not log in"

But worse still is now all my listings now say "CANCELED - VERIFICATION CODE REQUIRED BY EBAY" ???

What on earth is happening ?

OK now you will need to enable the Gixen socks proxy.

I think I can probably say what happened:

You changed the password, and immediately logged in with the new one, so you lost access to all your old snipes with the old password, however they will still have been live since you had not actually deleted them, those are the snipes you will have received emails about, when Gixen tried to actually submit the first of them. The ones scheduled with your new credentials would not have been affected, at that stage.

Unfortunately, since your old snipes had the wrong credentials that will have caused Gixen to try to log into your account with the wrong credentials... and if you had the same offset as the first time you scheduled the snipe on the second time, that will have been at exactly the same time too... that combination of events is quite toxic to Ebay these days, and will have caused the verification steps that Ebay now require you to take... you should be able to recreate the blockage Ebay have in place once you enable the socks proxy... and thus remove it.

Once you remove that block you should be OK again... but for future reference, to avoid this happening again, when you change your password on Ebay, first log in here with your old credentials, and delete all the snipes you have scheduled, before logging in again with your new credentials and rescheduling all those snipes once more.

Why not have Gixen automatically remove the old snipes when a new password is entered with an existing username? Otherwise people will inadvertently end up needing to verify with proxy etc, because the proper steps to follow aren't as clear as they could be...

OK, I have made the proxy changes yesterday evening and Gixen confirmed the correct IP, I then placed a bid, but no eBay verification requested ?

I then found I could not log back into Gixeen as it said too many failed attempts Sad so I gave up for the day.

Today I have managed to log back in and I agree with maxtest, if Gixen is going to remove them from my viability, it should also delete them, but it does explain why I only received 6 emails even though I had 10 sniped booked, s the last 4 were added after I changed passwords !

I will now edit each and change the timings to be different from the originals and we will see what happens when the next one triggers tomorrow.

I agree, and have stated elsewhere, that some arrangements for the transition of passwords on snipes are now required here on Gixen.
