HI. A bit more frustrated today. Please can someone help. 152057146800
After missing something yesterday I bought the sub. Loaded a test and a 'really wanted' buy into the desktop manager (running windows 7) and the test buy worked, and the 'really wanted' buy was missed and I got a EBAY ERROR: LOGIN TIMEOUT (2)
I also got the socket error mssg on the desktop manager today.
Why would I get a login error when I have the mirror service? I thought that was supposed to prevent this problem?
Searching this forum, I can see that
socket error # 10060 connection timed out is widely reported and that it looks like the desktop manager is known not to work unless machines are in backward compatability mode. So why is it still up for download?
I'd really appreciate some help here please!
Thanks |

Did you get the same, LOGIN TIMEOUT, status on both the Main and Mirror tabs?
You only need to run the Desktop Manager in compatibility mode, you don't need to downgrade the whole machine. It is necessary to have the Desktop manager compatible with the greatest number of machines so that the greatest number of Gixen users are able to continue to use it... that is why it continues to be available in this form... and users of later operating systems are asked to run it in compatibility mode. If it were provided in a form that only ran on windows 10 many Gixen users, with older systems, would not be able to use it at all. _________________ Mark |

I guess another missing piece of info is: What did you have the offset as for both the main and mirror snipes? Like - a one or two second offset is a really bad idea - even though you are allowed to do so.
And... you weren't trying to place this snipe (or modify it) in the last two minutes before the auction ended? |
