Hello, I am new and I apologize for asking but I would like to make sure. If an item is listed as an AUCTION, and has no bid's, will Gixen place a bid for me? Basically I am asking if Gixen will bid an item that has not been bid at all right before the item ends?
Also, if an item is listed as a BUY IT NOW, will Gixen place a bid for me right before the item that's listed ends?
Thank You to all who reply and I apologize for what are probably asked before and dumb questions.

Gixen will place your bid on an auction, even if there are no previous bids.
Gixen will not place a bid on a buy-it-now-only listing. For auctions that have a buy-it-now price, make sure your bid is not higher than buy-it-now price, or ebay will not accept it. |

I was also wondering the same thing. But what else I was wondering is that say, for example, the starting bid would be 4.99. So, you do not bid and it remains at zero bids. But instead, you put in your snipe at Gixen as $5.51 in case someone bids the original 4.99 plus one (5.49). But then it remains that no one else ever bids on the item. At the time of auction close, since Gixen has your snipe listed as 5.51, will it bid the 5.51 as your opening bid or just bid the original asking bid of 4.99?
Thanks in advance |

Gixen bids the amount that you specify... However, that does not mean that the auction price at the end of the auction will always be that high if you win it.
Ebay only ever makes you pay at most one bid increment more than the next highest bidder.
So in your example if there is no other bidder you would only have to pay 4.99 even though your maximum bid was actually higher.
All this is just how Ebay works, that is why Gixen can simply place the bid you specify and not worry about what the auction price is before doing so... other than that the current price is such that Ebay will allow the bid to be placed at all, of course. _________________ Mark |
