|
|
A recent snipe failed because eBay required verification. My question is "what triggers this requirement?" In the past, snipes have worked like a charm, but obviously not this time. In the past, while I was in the US, I set up successful snipes. While I'm here in Germany, but still using eBay.com, not eBay.de, my snipe failed. Does being out of the US have anything to do with the verification requirement?
While I'm browsing ebay.com, leaving feedback, writing messages, etc., there's no unusual verification message. |

There's been a problem with ebay increasing/changing the ebay verification requirements recently. I believe management is looking into this, as mentioned in another thread. |

|

I LOST A BID DUE TO EBAY NOT RECEIVING MY VERIFICATION! Yet, all of my other bids including those placed before and after the lost went through without a problem. I checked Gixen's recommendations to allow proxy sign in, but why change my settings when most of them are working? I can't really complain,,everything on ebay returns again and most of the time at lower prices,, we must learn to calm down.. at least we no longer have to stay up past midnight with manual bids and quick typing skills..most of us have lost far more bids without GIXEn !!. |

RBEmerson,
I wish I always knew the answer what causes it. It would be a lot easier to think of a solution.
When I launched Gixen many years ago everything was much easier. All that was needed was to have correct credentials. Over the last few years it got a lot more difficult - everything about the user has to match as closely as possible.
And yet - there is one thing that can never match - the IP address from which snipes are sent. One day eBay may finally completely kill sniping services.
The service seems to be fully restored now, after a lot of problems, troubleshooting, and guessing what ebay changed this time. I don't exclude further complications again, but for now it seems to work fine again. |

had another snipe failure.. and usually when one fails without having login credentials, the mirror one might still win...
the auction it failed on was:
231783239245
the winner won it too LOW!
very annoying how ebay is.. just yesterday it was forcing BINs to have immediate paymt... and today it was back to the old way... how many times do i have to tell them.. don't change something that is fixed?
it shouldn't require phone or text variation.. this is a home computer... |

OK - gotit. I understand fully that eBay is too often a moving target. My big problem with working through proxies is that the place where I get my WiFi, here in Germany, is fragile as it is (try to use Firefox from my Galaxy S5 and the connection collapses - use Chrome from the S5 and the connection "only" slows down - go figure).
Anyway, if there's no clear way to avoid triggering the verification nonsense, sobeit. |

I started getting these errors 2 days ago. I've tried all the steps mentioned on proxy page, but still getting error.
Any other steps I should take to fix this? |

Same problem here. It started for me when the issue with adding items was resolved on Saturday - every auction since then has failed, even after following the instructions for clearing cookies and using the gixen proxy to manually enter a bid. |

If you have followed all the recommended steps and still don't find the blockage that Ebay has put in place then you will need to email Mario at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab above.
Always include your Ebay id in such emails. _________________ Mark

I hope this helps someone
I setup the proxy and placed a bid etc..it still did not work.
I was able to fix it by doing the following:
1. Run Internet Explorer with the proxy setup.( IE is as slow as a wet week, but persevere)
2.Once I verified with Ebay,I changed some minor account settings...buyer requirements, locations posted to etc.
It doesnt really matter what you change as long as you change a couple of things, then Ebay will store that IP address. |
