Nothing that you do here on Gixen, or indeed on Ebay, after the auction has completed will affect the likelihood of you being offered a second chance offer, by the seller of an item.
I guess using a sniping service makes it slightly less likely that you will be the second place bidder on any auction, not because it is a less reliable method of placing bids (especially with a Mirrored snipe)... but because Ebays' bid increment rule makes it a bit less likely that you bid will even be high enough to be accepted if it the last seconds of the auction the price rises to within 1 bid increment of your maximum snipe bid amount, whereas a bid placed earlier in the auction is more likely to be accepted, though also obviously also less likely to actually win the auction since others are then encouraged to outbid you.
Personally, I never take second chance offers anyway, since it encourages sellers to place bids on their own auctions, and when they win, just try to take the maximum bid that was otherwise placed. That happened a few too many times to me in the past, so I made a policy decision never again to accept any second chance offer. I will, however, consider bidding again if the seller chooses to re-list the item.
Anyway, I am getting off the point, once a bid is placed on Ebay by Gixen it is never withdrawn by Gixen. It is unlikely that you would be able to remove an accepted bid from Ebay after the auction had completed either, even if you wanted to. _________________ Mark |
