i am getting this message when logging on to Gixen:
Your account has been suspended for the following reason: Too many failed login attempts (5).
The suspension will automatically be lifted after one hour. Please verify your password on eBay first before trying again.
I believe a bid I had scheduled earlier today went through but now I have this message when trying to login.
Please advise.
Thanks! |

I'M having the same problem...REALLY screwing up my life. I use sniping programs to buy items to resell....probably cost me $2G's tonight...pretty pissed.
item # 131681302474 - which means nothing because this isn't a problem with eBay. |

Personally, I would check again that I have no problems logging into Ebay direct, typing out my password in full (not using saved browser defaults).
Then I would wait an hour or so (as stated in the message you are getting) before doing the same on the Gixen site (typing out long hand, not using browser saved settings).
If that failed still failed to get me access to the Gixen snipes page, then I would revert to emailing Mario, at the address given on the 'Contact' tab above, including my Ebay userid, but not my password. Credentials issues are usually best dealt with that way as you don't want to provide personal details on an open forum like this.
Please be advised that, blocking accounts that Ebay refuses to log in, are measures that are in place in order to protect the Gixen site, and thus the whole community here, from looking like it might be enabling phishing attempts against Ebay... which would cause Ebay to take far more drastic action against the Gixen servers than it does at present... preventing anyone from using the site for the purpose for which it is intended. _________________ Mark |

spotdog,
Do you use other sniping services as well?... your post implies that you may do.
That could well increase the likelihood of Ebay taking action against your account since it increases the number of locations that you log in from.
At this point I would recommend concentrating on getting just one sniping tool working... If you choose Gixen to be the one you concentrate on then there may be some value in starting an email conversation with Mario... If your account is blocked from logging into Ebay via Gixen IPs then there are actions that you can take, like setting up the Gixen socks proxy and then verifying your Ebay account against the Gixen server that way... but you will need to obtain advice from Mario before attempting that. _________________ Mark |
