Am unclear about exact functioning of mirror (and cant find answers for these queries in the FAQ).
1. Could the mirror outbid the same main bid if set to a shorter time, and the highest price is under the max?
Or is there some way the system recognises this?
2. Is there any difference in setting the mirror a shorter time than main, or vice-versa?
Thanks

The aim is to add reliability to the service not to provide two bites of the cherry.
The bids are the same on both the Main and the Mirror, it is Ebays' proxy bidding system that ensures that you pay no more than one bid increment more than the next highest bidder was prepared to bid.
One is a backup to the other only... So the one you set to bid later generally can't bid (because Ebay does not allow you to place the same bid at different times) unless the bid from the one that should have bid earlier has failed for some reason.
It makes no practical difference which you choose to bid earlier... the winning bid is most likely to come from that one, since failures to bid, by either server, are not common. _________________ Mark |
