I am considering using Gixen. I have a very hard to find item ending in a couple days that I must win, but of course don't want to overpay either. These last second bidders ... like your snipe system and others are a pain for regular users. So I thought I would give you a chance..but want to know: If I am using Gixen, and just in case as backup enter bids myself manually in eBay with maximum bid amounts included, am I bidding against myself?
Say I bid 75, someone bids 100, and I manually increase my eBay maximum bid to 125 and I have entered a max of 150 in Gixen, will my manual take the item at say 105 and Gixen see it's me and stop bidding, or will I be bidding against myself in Gixen and go up past the 125 manual maximum entered until Gixen can clearly win at probably 130 ??????
And, if I use the instant one bid process at the end will I be bidding against myself in Gixen or will Gixen see it is the same user name and not outbid me?
Now if someone else jumps in again after my instant bid at the last second, will Gixen come to life again and bid against them, of has it stopped because I jumped in manually??
I want to use Gixen as a backup to my manual usually loosing tactics. How exactly can I successfully do that. I see sometimes Gixen has problems and want to do manual just in case this is the time Gixen hiccups. Stuff happens..it's a machine and using sometimes unreliable electricity and such...
How can I successfully use Gixen and back it up with manual eBay bidding as well??? What I read about this topic on your home page is still confusing to me. Please clarify exactly.

Gixen bids what you tell it to bid, in the last few seconds.
If you manually place bids lower than your Gixen bid then Gixen will still be able to place a bid... if however you place a higher (or equal) bid before Gixen has a chance to place one for you then you will prevent Gixen from placing that bid.. Ebay does not allow you to place later lower bids.
That said you do not need to worry about bidding against yourself... So long as you use the same Ebay account in Gixen as you do for your manual bids Ebay does not rise the price as a result of extra bids from the same account... it is only if other users bid against your bids that Ebay rises the auction price.
If it is extra security you are after I would highly recommend getting the Mirror option here on Gixen ... at $6 for a year it is very economic and gives more security than your proposed manual backup sniping. _________________ Mark |
