Hi. Just tried logging in and I get the above. I have made absolutely sure it's right, including cutting and pasting the password from notepad but still no joy. Haven't changed my password in several weeks.
Any issues?
Many thanks,
T. |

Can confirm the same issue, user name and password used are correct but :-
Quote: | Password is not a match. Could not log you in.
eBay refused your password. |

eBay is not letting Gixen log on to my account. I logged off and logged back on the eBay web site and double checked my user name and password. |

Has the encoding/decoding routine used for storing the ebay username and password in gixen.ini been fully tested for all possible characters?
I'm thinking of the special characters like ?_!# and the "at" sign. |

dougwoodrow,
Are you having issues with the Gixen Desktop Manager not being able to remember your credentials when you have asked it to? _________________ Mark

Hi Mark,
I'm not sure; I changed my password, and am getting the error below.
It could well be the captcha issue Mario mentioned as it has only been a couple of hours since I changed the password.
But while I was investigating the issue I noticed that some special characters get encoded as 3 characters in gixen.ini, which made me wonder whether that was the problem.

Changing passwords does seem to trigger the Gixen servers receiving Captchas for some users, usually that resolves itself in about a day... if not then you would be best emailing Mario at the support address on the Support tab above... because it is unwise to discuss specific credentials on an open forum like this and difficult to resolve any specific issue without personal contact. _________________ Mark |

Thanks Mark, will do if the problem still happens tomorrow.
It just struck me as strange for some characters to be translated to 3 characters, when for other characters the encoding appears to be a simple one to one Caesar cypher. |

There is definitely a bug in the encoding/decoding routine, I've reported it to support-at-gixen.com. |

Doug, I responded to your email. This is not a bug - hexadecimal ascii codes are used to represent some characters in html. |
