Can gixen be beaten by ebay's automatic biddings? Lets say the price right now is $1, but their max bid is $5. Gixen puts in $1.50, because yeah and ebay's automatic puts it up to $2. Do I lose just like that or can gixen snipe $2 also? |

Gixen places you maximum bid, it does not bid incrementally... So it depends what you maximum bid is, that you specify when you set up the snipe... in this case if your bid is over $5 and there are no other bids then you win, otherwise you loose... Gixen can never beat a higher bid that has already been submitted, Ebays' bidding system does not allow that to happen... However, Ebays' bidding system also never makes you pay more than one bid increment more than the next highest bidder, so you don't necessarily have to pay as much as your maximum bid.. only if someone else has a bid close to yours does that happen.
Sniping tools like Gixen have an advantage over those bidders that have not already submitted their maximum bid, and/or perhaps have not worked out how valuable the item really is... No sniping tool has any advantage over a bidder that places their maximum bid at a competitive rate earlier in the auction. _________________ Mark |
