|
|
I purchased the Mirror service and have two very basic questions which are:
(1) Since two bids will be submitted (one from the Chicago server, the other from the Miami server), will I be charged twice if I win the auction? Can you please explain how this works?
(2) If the maximum bid I placed is well in excess of the final auction price, will I have to pay the maximum bid or the lowest price? For ex: The current item has 0 bids and is listed at an opening price of $1000. Also there is a "Buy It Now" price of $2000. If my max bid is $1500 and nobody else bids on the auction, what will I end up having to pay for the auction item?
Thanks for your help. |

(1) The servers work independently to place the same bid for you... most of the time only one succeeds and the other is blocked since there is already a bid of that amount from your Ebay account and Ebay generally only allows one... Occasionally when you have the same offset for both servers you do get two bids that get through... but it's one auction so, of course, you only have to pay for it once.. and having two bids of the same amount from the same user does not increase the price that you pay at all.
(2) You only ever have to pay, at most, one bid increment more than the next highest bidder, this is how Ebay auctions work. _________________ Mark |
