Is the GDM compatible with Windows 8. I've installed it and get this error message: Could not load SSL Library. Thanks

It is, only SSL dlls that were included in GDM zip file should be in the working directory of GDM, whatever it is. Also, you may have to run GDM in "compatibility" mode.
