Hi. For the last 2 days I have lost 15 auctions with the same message appears in GIXEN - UNKNOWN ERROR (3)
and in all cases my bids was much higher than items are sold for.

For example items:
310608435479
140921712936
130857645987

So, now I buy directly from Ebay by using their service that is not such comfortable as GIXEN.

For last 2 years I never had a problem with GIXEN and now after I've bought GIXEN Mirror service its happens with me.

I am a bit disappointed by this situation Sad

Can you please help me and explain what is happening .

Only Mario can look at the results of your snipes.

I see that two of those auctions are with the same seller, have you tried bidding manually on other auctions from that seller?.. and, if so, have you noticed ebay presenting any unusual pages when you do?

It seems that ebay returned pages in Russian! I have never seen this before. Any idea why? Have you changed any of your settings on ebay.com, e.g. set it up to display text in Russian?

The ebay account is registered in the Russian Federation, I guess that might be the reason ebay thinks it is best to display messages in Russian.

Thank you for your reply. I've tried to bid manualy and won few auctions after this from the same seller. How I see nothing unusual appears then I bid...

Thank you for your reply. I haven't changed any settings on ebay. Text in Russian shows for me automaticaly because account is linked to Russia. And how I remember it was the same for the last couple of months.

This is very unusual, I have to tell you - at least I haven't seen it before, and Gixen has quite a few Russian users. Can you check the settings and see if you can switch it to English?

Now everything is ok. Problem was with change to Russian (beta) version of ebay settings.

Hi. For the last 3 days I have lost about 50 auctions with the same message appears in GIXEN - UNKNOWN ERROR (3) from different sellers in Germany & USA.
and in all cases my bids was much higher than items are sold for.

So, now I buy directly from Ebay by using their service that is not such comfortable as GIXEN.

For last 5 years I never had a problem with GIXEN and now after I've bought GIXEN Mirror service its happens with me.

client1975, same issue as above - did you switch your account to Russian beta?

Gixen can't parse Russian, please opt out of beta and sniping will work fine again.

Item: 380615507059
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE Status (mirror): UNKNOWN ERROR (3).

Just now I have lost my auction too.
My account is from Russia too.
We cannot switch to English because eBay choose language for My eBay automatically but I see the UK pages in English.

And what about snipes from Germany, France, Italy etc? Are they loose their auctions too?

This does not appear to be a language problem because you are reporting that the status for Main is 'BID UNDER ASKING PRICE'.

Gixen does not support the Russian interface, and since it bids through the American and European interfaces it hasn't ever needed to.

Unless ebay starts enforcing the display of messages based on where the the account is registered, it shouldn't need to be able to parse Russian, even for Russian users.

Mark, it is a language problem, the bids are often not under asking price, but ebay returns a new screen in Russian, asking users to submit their maximum bid. This screen is typically returned when a bid is too low, but not this time.

Only Russian users are affected. I am aware of the issue, and working on resolving it.

Thanks a lot! I do not want to say farewell to Gixen.
If you need help (maybe translation from/into Russian) I am ready.

I think I found the issue, and (some) fix is in place.

I am monitoring things to see if there will be another failure. I would appreciate if Russian users who previously reported failures would let me know if everything is fine now.

Thanks, Mario, for fixing of the problem. Now everything is OK.
I reckoned the reason: eBay needs comma in decimal for Russian customers, not a dot for US customers.

That was part of the problem, but it was slightly more complicated than that. It's fixed nevertheless.

'LOGIN TIMEOUT' occurs when ebay fails to respond to a request to log in to your ebay account, this often indicates a problem at ebay itself.

Were these snipes Mirrored, and if so, what was the status provided by the Mirror server?

Item: 221273699240
Item: 221273699240

Status: UNKNOWN ERROR (3)

First item: sniper did not sniped for unknown reason.
Second item: Though Reserve price was not met, but sniper did not sniped also.

My account is from Russia too, and I recently subscribed for Gixen Mirror.
If I click on View Error, I see this message:

Quote:

Confirm your identity by phone

Our automated system will call you and read a 4-digit PIN. You''ll be asked to enter your PIN on the next page.

I guess this message is probably new for the Gixen parser, so it could not parse it?

Have you ever seen this message yourself? E.g. has eBay ever asked you to confirm your identity via phone or similar?

Gixen has no way of passing this and I am not sure why it''s asked for it for your account. Is your password a strong one?

Hi mario,
Yes, I saw it at about the same time, 3-4 days ago. I think it could be various reasons, a) weak password, b) i had changed email before that, c) it was my first buying. I don''t know which exactly. And I did not completed this checking. But yesterday I did my first buying, without that message. I hope, message gone away now Smile
