I want to snipe on an item available only to the US buyers. I am from Norway. I have already contacted the seller and he allowed me to bid. I made a trial bid and it went OK. Will Gixen place my bid when the time comes?
The auction still states that is available for US bidders only. I had this problem once before and Gixen did not placed my bid stating that I was not meeting the auction's restrictions. But at that time I did not made the test bid.
If the admin is interested in it: The auction in question is the only one in my queue list.
Thanks

Yes, if you are able to place a bid manually Gixen will be able to place a bid when the time comes.
Gixen uses the same process that you do to place the bid. _________________ Mark |

ebay item id 140915675938 (but i think you get the message: This listing (140915675938) has been removed, or this item is not available.)

Hi Cupid. You're probably right when it comes to US auctions. However I live in The Netherlands and although I set Gixen to look at a different country it always checks at the .com part of ebay. - Not the one you set in the options.
Now comes the bug.
If a shipping country is set to a particular country only and the .com part of ebay cannot find it, then a manual bid will work, but a snip won't.
If you want more information please contact me via email. (As a software tester I can provide screenshots and give detailed information)

Hope to hear,
Kindest regards,

Robert, I am not completely sure I understand what you are saying here, despite my best effort.
Gixen is unaware of shipping country. Only one setting on Gixen is relevant - target site, which can be ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.com.au. ebay.ca or ebay.de.
Choosing one of the target settings is equivalent to going to that particular ebay site and submitting your bid there. There is zero difference between a Gixen bid and a manual bid.
In addition, if "Change ebay target site automatically if needed" is selected, Gixen will do a best effort to switch to an alternate target site if it cannot add your snipe on the selected target site. If you were able to add an item to Gixen, that means that Gixen found a working target site. When I say "working" I mean an eBay country site on which the item is visible.
So this solves the problem of finding a target site on which item is visible. It *does not* solve a problem if there is a shipping restriction in place, e.g. if the seller from US does not ship to Germany. There is nothing that Gixen can do about that, and this does not depend on the country site where bid is submitted - it depends only on seller's and buyer's accounts (e.g. locations) and restrictions that seller or ebay put in place. |
