Bid not implemented

I used Gixen for the first time yesterday June 25 and did not win the auction even though my maximum bid was higher. The winning bid was $92.55 and my maximum bid was $93.16. My username was not listed as a bidder in Ebay. The status column in Gixen indicated "bid under asking price". Can you tell me what caused this outcome so I can avoid it in the future if possible? Thanks.

Minimum bid increment in that range is 1$.
