EBAY ITEM # 320866832963
There probably is an easy explanation for this, but I don't understand why I lost a bid when my bid was one cent higher than the winning bid. Thanks. |

eBay will not accept a bid that is less than one bid increment above the current auction price. _________________ Mark |

Thanks for that. I understand. That seems to be unfair and not quite right. |

It is how eBay has always worked, they have that restriction so that prices rise more rapidly and eBay gains more income.
This is why I recommend people schedule their snipes only early enough to prevent anyone else reacting to them and not as late as possible.
In this case if your bid had been scheduled to be more than 7 seconds before the auction ended eBay would have accepted your bid and what happened to you may have happened to the bid that was placed 7 seconds before the auction ended... the other bidder would, at least, have had to pay up to one bid increment more than your bid. _________________ Mark |
