great site BTW.
I live in Canada and was bidding on an item that had shipping to US only
item: 120832598229
The problem is, I contacted the seller and he would have sent it to my sisterinlaw in florida, and she would have brought it up to me. Could you invoke either an over-ride option or a warning notice instead, or is this error message coming directly from ebay and is out of your control? |

jsbsmd, it's coming directly from ebay, Gixen itself does not impose any restrictions, or tries to be too smart. Seller may have agreed to do what you say, but he either forgot, or did not know how to remove the restriction. |

I'm often in the same situation as jsbsmd.
An auction listing may have a Ship To of USA only and you might be able to bid on it from a Canadian account, or you might not.
Since I don't sell I don't know how this works but I assume there is more than one auction/seller option controlling this. I've had inexperienced sellers try incorrectly to open the bidding for me.
I think the only way you can be certain is to previously place a manual low-value bid and see if it succeeds. Then create your snipe. |

The only way to go around this is to register another, US ebay account. |

The option to restrict auctions to buyers that are registered in the same country as the seller is hidden from buyers that look at the auction page, so, yes, the only way to tell for sure is to try to bid and see if it is allowed or not. _________________ Mark |
