the previous post mentions a problem with ebay, this may be so
look at item 320784728032 (ebay.co.uk)
it is more than the stated time left til the end of the auction in this case |

See forum thread "Snipe failed due to daylight savings?", unfortunately your problem is not unique. eBay messed up today. |

eBay now appear to be updating the end times, Gixen should catch up with eBay's changes over the next day or so. It will take eBay a while to update all those that are wrong though and then Gixen has to detect that change which it does periodically.
For auctions ending soon that have the incorrect duration here on Gixen I would recommend modifying the snipe, or removing it and adding it again.
There is only a point to doing that if eBay now has the correct time displayed, if not I would recommend sniping manually. _________________ Mark |

What was the status Gixen gave for the others?
To me, this looks like a different problem from the one others are talking about on this thread. _________________ Mark |

Mark, it's the same problem - that "unknown error" is bad request due to auction being ended an hour before. |

I see... eBay appear to be covering their tracks by updating the auction end times after the auctions have completed... I'm sure the intention is not to deceive further and they can claim it is part of sorting out the problem.
I wonder if they will be offering compensation to any of the sellers that have missed out on higher bids? _________________ Mark |

I just lost out on one, might have been high bidder, but the snipe was never submitted. |

I think it has been clearly demonstrated here that the issue lies with eBay not with Gixen... I would think it would be common to other sniping software that when eBay reports an incorrect ending time the snipe fails.
But if anyone can prove that wrong please feel free to do so. _________________ Mark |

I had lost out on a bid, with my snipe $5.00 over winning bid. I finally got a notice from Gixen at 3:49pm that bidding ended early. Bidding had ended at 12:48 PST |
