|
|
I lost a bid last night item closed at $366
I had a Mirrored Gixen bid at $430 See below
ENDED 430.00 366.00 USD NETWORK ERROR (1)
I have bought hundreds of items using Gixen (with mirror) and this is the first problem I have ever had.
While I will continue to use Gixen, should I also consider doing a manual bid in the last few seconds for Items that are critical for me to win (like this one).
Will this cause me to bid against myself and thus drive the price over others bids?
Does anyone else have experience with this?
Thanks |

You actually won this auction, and your bid was submitted by both main and mirror servers. The main server did report "network error", probably because it didn't receive timely response from ebay, but nevertheless, the bid was submitted. |

Sorry for the confusion
the Main site said NETWORK ERROR (1) and the mirror said WON FROM ELSEWHERE.
What is even stranger is that Ebay did not color the item price green indicating I had won it and when I reviewed the bids this AM it had a different user as the winner.
I checked again and I am the winner.
Very sorry. Appears to be something going on at the Ebay end.... |

No need to apologize, it *is* confusing sometimes.
Mirror probably detected that your bid was already submitted, however it's not clear even to me how come that bid history shows two bids. Unless if you used another service in addition to Gixen. It's the first time I see this. |

I did not use any other service.
In addition, as I said, when I reviewed the bid history this AM (hours after the sale completed) neither of my two winning bids (that now show) showed up.
YOU PROVIDE A GREAT SERVICE.
THANKS AGAIN |

When did eBay send you notification via email that you had won?
Are you certain that you were logged into eBay when you first looked?... I have been confused by this in the past when I thought I was logged in but eBay had mysteriously logged me out again... and then it suddenly looks like you have not won, when you have.
I think it is possible to get two bids submitted from the same Gixen server, the reason I think that is that many months ago I noticed one auction where I had three bids registered at the same time... I only ever use Gixen to snipe... Perhaps I should have reported it then if Mario does not expect that to ever happen... I will mention it if I ever see the same again. _________________ Mark |
