Ok so I was wondering, if I set a max bid to $250, and the current bid is $207, will Gixen bid $250 or just one increment above the other one (which would be around $210)?

Gixen sunmits your maximum bid, however since eBay uses a proxy bidding system that does not mean that is what you will have to pay if you win.

eBay works out the winner and the final auction price it is based on the second highest bidders maximum plus at most one bid increment.

You should always be prepared to pay the maximum that you enter though as there is no way to tell what other bidders might bid, or may have already bid.
