Hi Mario,
Loved your work here, so much that after winning an auction using the 'main' server i decided to subscribe to take advantage of the the additional benefits that the mirror service provides and to support you for creating such an excellent application. I've been able to snap up so many bargains, really happy!
HOWEVER...i discovered a bug. I'm not sure it's an intended feature. Basically, at the last minute i tried changin the max price. This was because I realised the item's price was increasing rapidly and wanted to adjust it. I'll try and describe the steps i took to reproduce it:
1) Enter eBay item ID
2) Wait 2 minutes before auction ends
3) Change max price (i made a type here! and entered '..00' don't know if that affected anything
4) ERror message in read stating that "Was entered into the system too late and cannot process your request" (or something similar).
5) Refreshed the Gixen page and item disappeared. Lost auction and item went for $2.00 below the MAX price of what i entered initially to Gixen, so there was no real need to adjust it. It could have just retained the old snipe data rather than delete it. Really disappointed
Oh well, just thought i'd mention. |

It is a feature of the system, because the process of entering the snipe begins well before the actual bid is placed.
For successful sniping you do need to have decided your absolute maximum more than 2 minutes before the auction ends and have set that up as a snipe by then, changing your mind at the last minute is never going to work well. _________________ Mark |

Hi Cupid,
I understand and accept this. However, can the application be adjusted to perhaps disable any snipes that are due to end in 2 minutes? This would prevent accidently editing an item and then causing it to be deleted, which is what i experienced. I actually wouldn't mind if it rejected the price change at the last minute and kept the original snipe. |

Sorry, the request should read: "Can the application be adjusted to perhaps disable any snipes (from being edited) that are due to end in 2 minutes" |

Well, this is certainly possible, but how important is it really? One can see how much time is left before auction end. |

Hi Mario, thanks for your reply. Whilst disabling the snipe in the last few minutes is not important because the auction end time is displayed, the system deleting a snipe that has been edited in the last few minutes of the auction ending may be something to look into. Although, I now am aware of this, others might not and may lose an important item as a result.
So, if you could edit the application so that it won't delete snipes that have been edited in the last few minutes of the auction and rather "lock" them in, that would be great. |

You don't want to refresh the page any way because you can lose snipes/or get a error that way too. If you want to refresh click the mirror then click the main. |
